Visiting the festival and camping tips

A festival that lasts multiple days, how are you going to manage that? Travelling back and forth home each day? A hotel? Or perhaps staying at the campsite? This last option is being chosen more and more often. If you want to experience the festival into the late hours, then sleeping in a tent is definitely the best option. But there are a few tips you need to keep in mind when you visit a campsite during a festival. We will now go into this in more detail so that you are well prepared!

What to consider when sleeping in a tent?

Sleeping in a tent doesn't have to be a problem, but it is wise to choose a somewhat spacious tent. A very large tent is a bit excessive, but a little space is certainly pleasant. You also need to store your belongings, and it's nice to be able to place your things next to your airbed. Perhaps a small porch is also an option; if that's possible with your tent, it's definitely worth considering. You could store your things there, for example. This also allows you to change clothes calmly without having to roll over your bed.

Choosing a tent

When you start looking into the types and sizes of tents available, you'll be amazed. There are many possibilities, but it's best to choose a tent that breathes a bit. You could think of a kind of dome tent with fabric, for example, which could be a combination of polyester and cotton - that is certainly recommended. It shouldn't be too heavy either, but it should breathe well (then it will also dry faster if it rains).

Keeping yourself warm

Do you get cold easily? Maybe not, but in a tent it can be very different. Sleeping in a warm bed is different from being in a tent out in an open field. The best thing you can do before leaving your tent is to zip up your sleeping bag and tuck your pillow inside a bit. You could also lay a blanket over it to keep it nice and warm. It cools down quickly in the evening, and it makes a big difference whether you zipped up your sleeping bag during the day or not.

Bring earplugs

A festival campsite will never be 100% quiet. There are always people having a drink, walking around, singing, talking, or playing a game. Therefore, it's better to think about your own night's rest and bring earplugs. This way, you won't hear everything around you and you can sleep better. You could practice with them at home so you get a bit used to wearing earplugs.

When do you shower?

It's nice to shower in between when you're visiting a festival for a few days, but when? There are many people who, like you, want to shower, and how do you make sure you don't have to wait too long? If you shower in the evening before going to sleep, it's much quieter; many people then crawl into their tents tired and satisfied. In the morning, they want to shower to feel fresh, but then you're already done, right? Therefore, choose to shower before you go to sleep, so you can start a good night's rest feeling fresh. In the morning, you'll be glad you did because you'll see the long queues there...
